How the Local Worker connects your computer to AIK Cloud:
You download and run the AIK Local Worker app on your computer (small program, no install needed).
You log in with your AIK account and choose which folders to share — the worker only accesses those folders, nothing else on your computer.
The worker opens a secure connection to AIK Cloud (like a phone call between your PC and the server).
When you ask an AI agent to work with your files (e.g. "read my invoices"), the cloud sends the request through this connection to the worker on your computer.
The worker reads the file locally and sends the content back. Your files are not uploaded or stored on our server unless you click "Sync to Cloud".
You stay in control: You choose the folders. You can add or remove them anytime with "Manage folders" above. The AI cannot access anything outside those folders.
How to disconnect:
From this page — flip the toggle switch above to OFF. The worker app on your computer will stop automatically.
From your computer — close the AIK Worker window, or right-click the AIK icon near your clock and click Quit.
Once disconnected, AI agents can no longer access your local files. To reconnect, just run the worker app again.
Already have the worker installed? Just start the AIK Worker app on your computer — this page will update automatically within a few seconds. If it shows "Auth failed", click Download Worker above to get a fresh login token, then run it again.
First time? Connect your computer to AIK Cloud:
Let AI agents read and write files on your machine — without uploading anything.
1Click "Download Worker" above — the file is about 40 MB, give it a moment.
2Extract the zip, then double-click AIK-Worker.exe — it connects automatically, no login needed.
3Come back here and click ↺ Refresh — the status will change to ONLINE.
Important: Please read before using
By connecting the AIK Local Worker, you allow AI agents to read, write, and modify files in the folders you shared. AI can make mistakes — it may overwrite, delete, or create files incorrectly.
How it works:
You install a small app (AIK Local Worker) on your computer and choose which folders to share.
The worker connects to AIK Cloud through a secure WebSocket channel using your login token.
When you ask an AI agent to work with your local files, AIK Cloud sends a request through this channel to the worker on your computer.
The worker executes the request only inside the folders you allowed — it cannot access anything else on your machine.
Results are sent back to the cloud agent through the same secure channel.
Security: No files are uploaded or stored on our servers unless you explicitly sync them. The worker only runs while the app is open. You can disconnect at any time by closing the worker app. You control which folders are shared — the AI cannot access anything outside those folders.
You are fully responsible for the folders you share and any changes made by AI agents.
We recommend sharing only folders with non-critical data or keeping backups.
AIK Platform is not liable for any data loss or corruption caused by AI agent actions.
